Founding
The Museum of Science and Technology was founded in 1989 as a project (working organization) of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and other co-founders at the initiative of academician Aleksandar Despić with the aim of collecting, protecting, preserving and using cultural assets from the field of science and technology.2005

The building
After spending several years located at SANU premises and exhibiting at the Gallery of Science and Technology, the Museum acquired its own building — the former Belgrade Municipal Thermal Power Plant, which holds symbolic significance.2009

Permanent Exhibition
After the new building of the old power plant was (partially) adapted into museum space, the first exhibition in the new building was opened in the premises of today's depot and Aleksandar Despić Gallery.Today
